When I try to teach and demonstrate transitions, the transition will work from slide 1 to 2, but none of the others. I have created multiple slideshows to test this out with the same result. So that begs the question, is there a setting on my computer that I would need to change, and not just a setting in PowerPoint? Oh phooey. I just tried transitions in a different presentation and it's back to the way it was.
